Terms of Service

1. What the service provides

China Now, in Chinese (the “Site”) provides news-based reading lessons, vocabulary tools, exercises and spaced review for learners of Mandarin Chinese. Lessons are adapted for language learning. They do not replace the original news sources and are not news, investment, legal or other professional advice.

2. Your account

You may sign in with Google or create an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for providing valid information and protecting your sign-in details. Your account is for your own use. You must not use the Site for attacks, automated registrations, unauthorised scraping, harassment or unlawful activity.

3. Learning content and intellectual property

The Site’s course structure, teaching notes, exercises and interface belong to Yona Chinese or their respective rights holders. Referenced reporting, images and dictionary data remain the property of their original rights holders and are credited where applicable. You may use generated learning reports for personal study, but you may not copy or resell the Site’s content in bulk.

4. Changes and availability

We may update lessons and features or temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, security or events outside our reasonable control. We take reasonable steps to keep the Site available and protect user data, but no internet service can be guaranteed to operate without interruption.

5. Ending your account

You may sign out or delete your account at any time. We may restrict or close accounts that seriously violate these terms or threaten users or Site security. Deleting an account also deletes the learning data stored for this Site and cannot be undone.

Questions can be submitted through the Contact page. If these terms change materially, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
