Information we collect

When you register, we receive an account identifier, your email address and, when supplied by Google, your display name. As you study, we save your reading history, saved words, exercise answers, review progress, study time and reading preferences. If you contact us, we save the email address, subject and message that you provide.

How we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, restore progress on different devices, provide review features, answer support requests, protect the service and improve the learning experience. We do not sell personal information and we do not use learning data for third-party targeted advertising.

Where it is stored

Account authentication is provided through Google Firebase. Learning data is stored in the Site’s cloud database, with a local browser copy used for faster recovery and limited offline use. Each Yona Chinese website has a separate account system and dataset; your data is not automatically shared between them.

Service providers and retention

Authentication and hosting providers process the limited data needed to operate the Site. We disclose personal information only when required by law, necessary to protect users and the service, or needed to provide something you request. Learning data is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete the account. Support messages are retained for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and maintain service records.

Your choices and rights

You can view and change your learning records, request information about your data, ask for a correction or deletion, or delete the account directly. Use the Contact page if you need help exercising these rights.

Children

Learners below the digital age of consent in their country should use the Site only with the permission and guidance of a parent or legal guardian.
